VDCCW BOARD MEETING AND CELEBRATION OF BISHOP DEWANE'S 33 YEARS OF PRIESTHOOD
JULY 25, 2020
Brenda Dolan and Ellen Bachman, Co-Presidents of the Venice Diocesan Council of
Catholic Women (VDCCW) present Bishop Frank Dewane with a check for ($9K)
for the Seminarians from the VDCCW Vocations fund. The women have
supported this fund for over 20 years. The check was presented at
the VDCCW Board meeting where the women celebrated the 33rd Anniversary of
Bishop Dewane’s Ordination to the Priesthood.
Brenda Dolan and Ellen Bachman,
Co-Presidents of the Venice Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (VDCCW),
presented Bishop Frank Dewane with checks for Hugs ($7,517.82), Seminarian ($9,014.30),
and the NCCW Vocation Fund ($1,772.50) was mailed to NCCW.
Also seated at the Board table (pictured above) are Marianne Torgler and Josephin Weiss. This money will be used for the homeless and marginalized
that
come to Catholic Charities for assistance. The source of our money was
derived from the Florida Council of Catholic Women’s project and Hugs
for
the Homeless. Councils from around the state raise money for this
project
and it is divided equally between the seven Diocesan Councils in the
State. VDCCW's theme for this year is “What Have you Done for the Least of My
People...” This project was a response to that question.
